I spent some time in Free Port, Bahamas and it was time well spent. I was there July 3rd-July 11th, so not only do they celebrate America's Independence they also have their own Independence Day on July 10th! My trip was filled with so many festivities. The Bahama Mama is the signature drink here for sure! I was greeted every where I went with a complimentary drink.
We Stayed at Ocean Reef Yacht club & Resort, this place was very nice and affordable.
The employees, you could tell they enjoyed their job and cared about your stay. They offered bikes for rent to ride around the island which was beautiful. I did tone of activities such as parasailing where I captured this beautiful view. I highly recommend Reef tours for parasailing the staff was fun and I felt safe the whole time.
They would dip you down in the water, point out turtles and other landmarks, and they played good appropriate music. This company also has boat tours and clear boat bottom shark feeding! I WILL be doing this next time I visit. This company was 5/5 stars for me all around. On The 4th of July around the shopping port area they had activities, food, live music, and fun shows. On July 10th they had more cultural food unique to the Island. They had marching bands, cultural dancing and music. I am beyond happy I traveled during this time because, I got the opportunity to learn more about their culture, the island and their food. On my tip I also went jet skiing, snorkeling, and did a lot of shopping at the main port. This trip was one to remember and I can't wait to go back and have a different experience because, there is still so much to be seen and do. If you are looking for a affordable vacation Free Port, Bahamas is the place for you I would recommend this island to anyone.
